Case study · Visual artist portfolio · London, working worldwide
An atmospheric artist portfolio built around original artworks and commission enquiries.
Kolyd needed more than a gallery page. The goal was to create a calm, atmospheric online home for visual artist Diana Kobrosli-Lytvynchuk: a place where visitors can meet the artist, explore original work, understand the techniques behind it and send a commission request without friction. The result is an editorial, artwork-first portfolio that feels personal on every screen.

The brief
Diana Kobrosli-Lytvynchuk works under the name Kolyd, creating traditional and digital art inspired by imaginary jellyfish, deep space and the quiet possibility of infinite life. The website needed to hold that atmosphere without competing with the work itself. It also had to give each artwork enough context, explain the artist's techniques, introduce Diana as a person and turn interest into a simple, secure commission enquiry.
Approach
How it was built.
- 01
Atmospheric visual direction: A bespoke editorial system was created around soft neutral backgrounds, deep ink typography and restrained rose accents, giving the artworks room to lead while keeping the Kolyd identity recognisable.
- 02
Artwork-first collection: The collection is organised as a scannable visual catalogue with titles, mediums, dimensions and direct enquiry routes, so visitors can understand each piece without opening a heavy gallery interface.
- 03
Artist and technique storytelling: The profile and materials sections connect the finished work to Diana's story, influences and process, adding the context collectors and commission clients need before getting in touch.
- 04
Interactive polish: Responsive layouts, artwork hover effects, smooth section transitions and considered navigation make the long-form portfolio feel calm and intentional on desktop and mobile.
- 05
Secure commission enquiries: The contact form sends requests to Telegram through a Netlify Serverless Function. The bot token stays in a protected environment variable instead of being exposed in frontend code.
- 06
Production and discovery setup: The project includes semantic page structure, descriptive metadata, image alt text, responsive assets, deployment on Netlify and custom-domain configuration for kolyd.art.
Outcome
Kolyd now has a distinctive online portfolio that feels like an extension of the artwork rather than a generic template. Visitors can move naturally from the artist's story to the collection, techniques and commission form, while Diana receives enquiries directly in Telegram through a secure backend route. The site gives the work a professional home that can support exhibitions, collectors and worldwide commissions.
